Description | Social Emotional Learning: Why it Matters During this workshop, participants will discuss the importance of teaching young children social and emotional skills. Social Skills are the foundation for school readiness and often children are not getting what they need in early learning settings to develop those skills. We will explore the value in respecting cultural diversity when evaluating and responding to challenging behaviors in children. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the importance in teaching self-regulation skills to all children and learn some simple hands on strategies to teach self-calming.
